What are "Crunchy" gear sets? It is when some element of the gear set hasn't cleanly cut through, but could still be popped out from the cut line. I call them crunchy because there are little pieces of the plastic where it didn't cut all the way though. Most of the gears are not crunchy at all and are a perfect cut. In my testing the crunchy gears work fine, but there is always a chance that a crunchy gear might not be perfect. Also, the crunchy gears need to be rolled around in another gear a bit to break of the little crunchy pieces. Crunchy gear sets usually only have 1 or 2 gears that are crunchy. Most gears in a crunchy gear set will have no defect or issue.

- Full & Plentiful Hoops: one misplaced number: There is one number out of place in the design. The '7' that should be part of the prime factors on the 210 hoop is misplaced over on the right side of the 192 frame (red circle in the picture). This gear set is discounted by CAD$20, lowering the price from CAD$99 to CAD$79
- Full Page, Crunchy: Additionally, the 69 triangle and 135 gear both have most of the pen holes not cut all the way through so those two gears are of less use. (75% discount applied)
- Compact gear set, Crunchy:
- The Kitchen Sink, Thick Hoops page 1A, Crunchy:
- Double Dense adjunct; mystery. I made these some time ago and put them in the corner to discount without making a not of why. Possibly crunchy. If they were unusable I would have thrown them away. Something makes them imperfect, but still probably good.
- Mystery Prototype. A small size gear set, see picture, that I found sitting in a corner. I think I made this at someone's request months ago, but something happened and it got stuck in a corner. I don't think that there is any cut issues with it. It is just a weird little one off of a gear set.
