A set of extreme ovals: these fun friends explore the limits of an oval gear to the extreme. They are in sets of two identical gears to make space for more pen hole density than can fit on just one gear
Jellybean A is a 70 (36/342) oval so it can roll inside a ring larger than 342, so it can work in and Enormous gear set. Jellybean B is a 70 (36/684) oval so it needs some of the largest Mammoth rings to roll in.
The 70 (36/684) notation means that it is an oval with 70 teeth total and that it is made of parts of a 36 gear and a 684 gear.
This also means that gears smaller than 36 can roll in the cutouts. The two jellybeans on each frame are aligned and spaced so that if you rotate the frame 90 degrees the ends of the ovals are overlapped perfectly which has potential for interesting composition.
These design images will be updated with actual product pictures as soon as possible, by late May ideally.
There is a set of 6 pictures showing some steps of using the Jellybean A frame (with a 21 gear for the design and a 36 gear for the repositioning) for making compositions with precise repositioning of the frame between designs. Please note that the frame used in this picture is a prototype piece and so does not have the black printing on it.
